Are these numbers (1500 hauling, 2000 towing) to be used separately? Or can you do both at the same time?

2000 max if towing, 1500 if you're not towing. Anything hauled subtracts from the towing limit.

You're welcome. I had to double check when I got mine because it seemed like the towing only being 500 more than payload made me think maybe it was additional.

The number you're looking for is the Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) which is the sum of vehicle + payload + towed.
