Personalized license plate

Ordered my CG, 2.0, Lux, Pilot 360, engine block heater, Tow with 17” alloy wheels coming with 235/17R AT tires in August. Later, in September when driving by the local DMV, on a whim, I went in asking if MAV XLT license plate was available? No, but XLT MAV was. Could I reserve it? No, but I could purchase the plate for my existing vehicle (‘16 Ford Escape AWD Titanium) and then transfer the plates once ownership was gained. So I did and here is how it looks now!!!!

Damn, that's great. I looked in to them in Texas and was blown away by the cost. $100 a year and I think it's a 5 year commitment....

I don't have to be that clever. Better options with my $500.

So in Texas, especially in Dallas and North Dallas we have something called "$50,000 Millionaires"....People who make 50K but want to look like they make a million. You see them pulling out of their apartments with $60,000 BMW's......so broke they need layaway for license plates.

$25 a year here, I use to have one but the wording would not really 'fit' the truck.

Thought about INVERTD, but that might bring me some bad mojo and I might find myself upside down on an icy highway.

Just ordered this from the DMV. I wanted ND4SPD but they wouldn't allow that one. I tried FLYBY, INVRTD, INVERT and GSTRDR. Every time, I heard "negative, Ghost Rider, the pattern is full."

There was only one thing to do. Buzz the tower.

As someone who is a pilot (although a civilian one), I know that the movie is full of crap. Maverick would have been grounded permanently, if not doing time in Fort Leavenworth, for that fly by. And he should have just let Jester go below the hard deck, because if you do that, it's the equivalent of crashing into the ground so he would have been credited with a kill.

I later learned from military pilots that all that chatter is garbage, because they minimize the talking in order not to clutter the communications frequency. Oh, and the oxygen mask stays on other than in straight and level flight and even there it's supposed to be on.

Still, it's an entertaining movie and it got a lot of kids wanting to be pilots. Just because it's not realistic doesn't mean it can't be good. As one former Thunderbird pilot said, it's a movie, not a documentary.

I've thought about getting "FAKTRK" on my Veteran's plates here in NOVA. I was driving behind someone last weekend who had a BMW M6 and his license plate was "BMW M6" and I thought to myself is this guy for real? He paid to have the make and model on his plate when it's already on the badges on his trunk lid? I guess do whatever makes you happy
