About two or three weeks ago, I called Ford Customer Service just to check in. I don’t have a build date for my October 30 hybrid XL base model, but she said they were “gathering parts.” Is that the same as the blend date?

I cannot speak for Ford Customer Service, but yes that is probably correct. The blend date appears on the window sticker just below the "special order" line. That is when they begin the process of sheet metal stamping, assigning components to orders, etc. It is generally about 10 days before the final "produced date". The date at the very bottom of the window sticker is simply a "last updated" date and mine changed every Thursday and sometimes Fridays. That date does not seem to have any significance on your order progress.

As far as I know, I still don’t have a window sticker or VIN. Called my sales guy yesterday. He said he doesn’t have any news. I am fortunate. My 2012 Chevy Colorado is still going strong, but when Quick Check and Wawa gas is 4.43 a gallon, I am getting antsy. As long as I get it by August, I won’t be having a cow about it.

The longer this goes the happier I am that I ordered early from a good dealer. I ordered sight unseen and hoped for the best. My Maverick arrived in mid November and has exceeded my expectations at all levels. I feel bad for those of you that are waiting and I certainly understand hesitation on a new model. I figured WTF, Chapman an didn’t take a down payment, was okay if I didn’t take delivery (they were probably hoping that I didn’t, lol)
In today’s Market I feel like I got a great deal. Added Falken Wildpeak Trails and my Maverick looks and drives great.

Yes, same here. I'm grateful to have received mine as "soon" as I did. I know there are many others that have been waiting longer (especially the hybrid orders). I ordered mine from a great dealer in Dallas, Tx and I'm guessing had ample allocations.

They were very responsive to my inquiries along the way, and I did not pester them a lot. Just a few times on getting scheduled, and once I got the VIN I could track it on the Ford tracker, then another inquiry once it shipped to get the railcar number than tracked it on the railroad trackers, and finally an inquiry on the last day of the train arrival.

Congrats. Nice looking truck.
I am a week or two away. I am more anxious about the "10% over what Ford gives it to us for. You wont get a better deal anywhere" promise. It is not a huge finacial issue. But definitely a principle one. The reason I ordered from Ford, the first day you could, was the price. So I ordered the XL with few options. About 23k total. Of course the dealer dropped the ball and did not contact me when they could do their part. Finally got ordered in August.
I was searching for, but had not realized there were no longer mini trucks out there. Then surprise! If there is dealer shenanigans, it may turn out not to be the inexpensive mini truck I ordered. We will see.
I need to stay in the day, as they say.

If you're dealing with a reputable dealer, they will give you the price protection to the price at your order date. My dealer did. They can even give you the Ford Credit financing rates at the time of your order if you are interested. For me, I got the X-Plan price for the date of my order and the $750 incentive I received from Ford. There was a 0% financing rate at the time of my order, but I could not get the $750 incentive AND the 0% financing (it was a dated thing for March/April, and there was no incentive back to my order date). My dealer helped me figure out the payments for each option, and it worked out to be about $14 per month less to go with the $750 and the current 0.9% financing vs. the 0% financing at time of order and no incentive.

Here's a good video from Tim Bartz with all the inside details.
