I have not owned a truck in a couple of decades. I will need a cover to keep mountain biking gear dry and out of sight. I park in a garage overnight and snow load should not be an issue.

I think I want a roll-up cover. Do I need a hard cover or is a soft cover enough? Looking at the Truxedo Pro x15. I like the matte finish and low profile design.

Love the factory installed trifold/hardtop tonneau. Its made by Rev industries/ Truck Hero. Have not driven in heavy rain yet, only time it leaks is when I wash the truck, probably because the hose is shooting the water right at the tonneau edge.

my 2 cents since I have a soft tri fold cover but park in my own garage every night but do worry about someone cutting the cover to get in the back empty or otherwise. Price was right.

If an open apartment garage is where others park, yes, you need a hard cover.

Watertight and budget will be the issues.

Most hard covers should be pretty water resistant, but waterproof is the hard part. A little water may or may not be a big deal to you. I'm not sure any warranty them to be waterproof but I could be wrong.

With good fortune and luck, my truck is supposed to be built next week. Once it's on the rails, I am looking to use my Ford Pass Points to discount the price of my hard, roll-up cover. Does anyone know how to find which are available through Ford? Can't find it on the website. Anybody else using FPP to save on a cover or what else would you use them for?

I know it takes at least a few days for the points to show in your account after you have taken delivery of your vehicle. So, you would have to wait to order it after you have the truck.

Fantastic. Thank you so much! I couldn't find it ... and when I put it in the search engine at www.fordparts.com it doesn't come up. Hmm.......calling my local Ford dealership with the number now! Thanks again.

Try LongMcArthur, Tim the video guy says they have them in stock. Not sure if they are the Ford branded type but it should not matter 🤷🏾‍♂️

Ok, the last truck I owned didn't even have a tailgate anymore, it rusted off. So what is the obsession with tonneau covers, every truck I see going down the street has one & it not hauling anything, nearly everyone I have talked to that has one says it's a pain everytime they have to haul something, but like the looks of it when not hauling, what am I missing? I am not planning on getting one, my vehicles are always garaged.

If you message or chat with some of online tonneau retailers you'll get a 10-20% discount on the advertised prices. I paid $775+tax for my Truxedo Sentry CT hard roll-up. The BAK (who MAKES the Ford hard roll-up) ones would probably be similarly priced (but possibly limited availability).

The reason I mention this, is that they are both already lower in price by enough margin that you should just save your $200 in points and use them for something else, since you'll be getting a better price on the other tonneau hard roll-up options and have another $200 in accessories or service.

A frugal man giving me advice I will definitely take advantage of, thank you.

Go to a Truxedo retailer website or call them and inquire about a discount?

I am in sales. Will keep things in the bed that I wan't secured in the hotel lot at night.

It's basically giving you the flexibility of having a pick up when needed but also offering an option to lock something safely like in the trunk.
