I think you can order a hybrid starting in Aug. 2022. If you're OK with waiting, you will have plenty of time to find the right dealer. Maybe Granger or one of the other actual high volume dealers will still have a significant (verified) discount available. Should save you a couple thousand even if you pay for shipping to your front door. Local may be a good place to start, but having an open mind to other possibilities might save you $$$$. And you won't have to endure the F&I guy's sales pitch for a wide range of things you don't want.

You may be able to snag a cancelled hybrid order. Expect to pay a markup.

I think I have decided to go ahead and talk to the dealer tomorrow to see about placing an order. Looking for a FWD hybrid XLT with the luxury pkg and copilot 360. Most likely in velocity blue, thats about all I need as far as options aside from little things like the tray all weather mats. I realize it will be quite awhile to wait but am interested in seeing what they have to offer. Strange world right now and for being a huge dealer its almost scary how empty their lot has been over the past 6 months or so of new vehicles. I've noticed a handful of Mavericks show up there but they don't last long and aren't there the next day so I would assume they are orders coming in and being delivered right to their owners. How am I looking for a wait time in your experience? (recent folks that have ordered).....thanks!
That's because people are trolling the dealer website and as soon as the Maverick says in transit they call and snap them up, at My local dealers lot when I spot a Maverick and look on the dash they all have, the sold sign on the dash

Right. Im in no hurry at all. I'm going to do some more research and comparing. I'm not going to accept getting hosed by markups and extra cost. Thanks!

I actually got an order in yesterday morning. I ended up deciding on the 2.0 eb (thats what I really wanted anyway) and switched my color to Alto Blue. Order number is in but not sure when I can expect the VIN. I am prepared to wait and know its inevitable. XLT FWD with luxury pkg and CoPilot 360 as the options.

Excellent. I hope you get a buyer's order signed by yourself and the sales manager or owner. They may try to load you up with added "features" upon arrival.

If that happens I'll just walk away. I don't necessarily need a new vehicle at this time just want one. I'm not holding my breath either way but I did have a discussion with them stating I would not accept any markups. Its a good dealership so hopefully they uphold their previous good experiences from us over the years. .we shall see.

Hopefully, it will turn out as you you have described. Assuming added dealer markup (ADM) is out of the equation, I would be concerned about "mandatory" charges for window etching, nitrogen filled tires, protective finishes, undercoating, tinted glass, blinking brake lights, etc.

As far as your being loyal customers, you may be overly optimistic. The monthly sales quota and commissions are the driving force with most dealers and many of their employees. Your past dealings with them may be irrelevant. That was then, this is now.

Yep. Understood. Not the same world anymore by any means. I know the games and add on things they try to put on at the end. Not interested in any of them. Don't forget about the fabric protection, lifetime blinker fluid refills, and power steering fluid flushes in an electrically assisted power steering system. Lol
