Hi everyone! I just picked up my truck yesterday and I must say I had mixed emotions until I turned the key. I have never drove a Hybrid before and I can see I am going to love it. I find its like having a "Jake Break" and it slows you down perfectly for reduced speeds when entering a town, village or city limits. I have good size hills around to so I tested that out as well. I just finished making a 12 volt wire harness with the supplied wire that came with the truck. I soldered a XT-60 female connector to the wire so I can use it for any 12 volt device I may want to power up from either side of the box ports.

2022 Maverick
XLT lux package/2.5lt hybrid
Velocity Blue
I ordered Maverick all weather mats two weeks before the truck came in
Part No

I also ordered a tonneau/bed cover

Congrats! Pumped you are enjoying it and already using the 12v. Such a great design. I have a VB XLT coming next week hopefully. It looks so damn good. I also have my all weather mats sitting in my garage ready to go lol.

I do a lot of things with solar and battery boxes I build. My plan is to use the 400 watt inverter in the truck to charge up my new Amo box I just built a week ago. It has (4) 10ah lithium iron phosphate batteries and it weighs in under 12lbs. I will be testing it when the weather warms up a bit. So enough of that, I noticed a really nice thing about the truck. I find the look over the hood is really good and overall the view is great. The "B" piler is a little wide so it will take some time to get use to that. I had a 2014 Taurus so I was use to blind spots! The truck really handles nice and for me it has lots of power. I have not put the "peddle to the metal" like Johnny says on his Youtube. The cruise control reacts really well too when you are leaving a 60km zone and accelerating to 80km. The ride is very quiet so I am very pleased. I just wanted to tell everyone how my first experience was with this little gem. I will be installing my snow tires in a few days because I had to buy new steel rims because the taurus bolt pattern is different. I took that opportunity to paint the rims with about three coats of high gloss black paint. My snow tires from the taurus will fit on my new rims. I will update everyone if this is successful.

Can't wait to see it with the black steelies! Don't think I've seen it yet with a VB XL. That was my plan before i decided to upgrade to xlt

Yesterday I got my snow tires installed. Everything went great! I bought my rims before I received the truck. I painted them with a paint from CT and it's made for roll bar and chassis(VHT) gloss black(CSP670). We will see if it holds up! I sanded the rims lightly then wiped down with isopropanol. Then applied light coats (3). One can did all 4 rims. I am thinking I will touch up the wheels weights when the weather warms up a bit. The one thing I noticed was the front calipers have very little clearance with the rim. Other than that, they will do the trick!

I have read about the cord in the plastic bag under the back seat. Didn’t even know about the 12 volt outlet until recently. Why is the cord in a plastic bag and not already attached in the bed? Is it easy to install? What are people using this for ? Thanks for any info.

Auxiliary Power Access The set of wires located in the auxiliary power access makes aftermarket customization easier with a prewired 12V circuit. The circuit is individually fused for 12V connection of electrical accessories. It looks like it is 84 on the fuse panel.

There are two spots in the box right near the tailgate close to storage doors. You can open the access door and there is a plug to allow you to use the wire in that bag as you described. If you notice there are bare wires on one end and this can be used for many things that run on 12 volts DC. The picture I posted, I added a XT-60 connector(yellow) so I can use it for my devices. That way I can add a small 12volt air compressor for 1 example. But you could use it for lights just use your 12 volt imagination. It has a separate fuse for just this circuit. It has its limits of course so use common sense (no more than 180 watts)
I hope this makes sense and I can get in more detail if you have more questions.
Thanks for your interest, Webbee

I currently take my pickup out to open fields in wildlife areas to look at the stars or full moon. Usually have some music playing with the windows down, but don’t leave it on too long to protect the battery. Can a portable radio or cell phone be plugged into the truck bed like you would at home ?
