Any Philadelphia Maverick Owners on this forum? I am doing a road trip down to Philly this weekend and I'm thinking about taking my Maverick over my girlfriends CRV. Have you guys had any issues with parking, maneuvering the city, theft, people throwing trash in the bed etc? This is my first new vehicle so I'm a bit cautious.

Thanks!

Not a Maverick owner yet, but I am in the Philadelphia area and know the city well. As with any city it depends on where in the city you go. There are big differences in safety, theft, etc... Be careful where you park as Parking Authority is ruthless. In general, your best bet is to park in a garage or lot if you can, but even there the spaces are tight and you may get "dinged". If you tell me where in the city you're going I could give you a little more detail.

I live in Philadelphia. NE to be exact. I have driven it in Center City and its plenty maneuverable and no troubles parking at all anywhere. Its the same length as a Honda Accord so if that fits this will. No one has touched my truck or thrown trash it it. I have a tonneau cover on it now so there is even less of a chance. You should be fine as long as you don't have a Cowboys sticker on it.

We are going to be close to Center city, we stayed at an airbnb a few times in Fairmount. One thing I'm worried about is that I don't have a front plate right now since I'm waiting for the dealership to send me the sales tax check so I can register it (bought it in NH).

Thanks! I'm a Pats fan but don't have any identifying stickers lol. We might move to Philly in the coming years.

You should be good in Fairmount. My girlfriend used to live in that neighborhood and its pretty gentrified at this point. I wouldn't leave the doors unlocked but you should be ok

We are staying in the Fitler Square area, so technically Center City West.

Would they have an issue with me only having a temp plate in the back? Dealership didn't give me one for the front.

Another reason to move to PA I guess, thanks!
No issue with temp plate, front or back. Only rear plates in PA. Use good sound judgment in where you go at what times and you'll be fine. Don't let the fear mongers scare you.

Stick to Center City and you might be ok. Parking can sometimes can be rough. Watch the signs. The parking people can'r read. Most of them are fool. They like to row on the weekends. Just remember you'r in KILLADEPLHA.

Haha this post is old! We actually moved to East Falls last year and I sold the maverick while the value was high. I found the backup camera quality to be awful and hard to park at night.

I switched over to a 2019 Forester Touring and got a great price on it. Ill miss the Mav though, if Ford had balls and made a hybrid AWD with better quality interior then I might just look back.
