I'm a mid aged retired veteran and will say I'm particular rather than OCD. For a quick/inexpensive solution I could live with- I'd use tape or plastic backing and fill the two matching grill spots with black silicone, smooth flush with credit card, putty knife, etc. This would give symmetry not look out of place and cost about 3-4 dollars. I could accept that long enough to decide on replacement or aftermarket options. Probably complete this in less than 30min. Would work long term if satisfied/Easily removed if not. Just a thought
I like that thought… only problem I see is getting the backing in there. Damn near impossible unless you take the whole front end off …

And insurance won't either outside of a windshield.
Not sure what state you're in or what kind of insurance you have, but I have zero deductible comprehensive coverage that would pay for this.

I agree with this... over the years I have been able to get various retailers to "stand behind" their quality and replace or repair at no cost - as long as it pointed to QUALITY of build or provision of service....
So by that reasoning, if a tree branch fell on the hood and made a dent, the warranty should cover it since the hood on the lowest price truck built does not have a titanium hood? Ridiculous.

So if your rearview mirror falls off it's because you live on a dirt road? If your door window shatters its because you closed your door too hard? Your seat tears because you sat on it. Don't forget that shortcoming in workmanship also takes design and engineering into account. Harder plastic should resist the MULTIPLE rocks that are going to be kicked up at it throughout the life of the VEH. If Ford decided to use plastic as a component on the grill it should be able to resist your every day rock impact. Most warranty's include shortcoming in material or workmanship.

This thread makes my head hurt.

1) It is NOT warranty. It is obviously a rock, it's winter, and they sand/gravel the roads.

2) You could use insurance, if you want to pay the deductible and have a claim on your file. This is just a grille, no paint required. If you are able, buy the part and install yourself. If you are not, get the dealer to install it at a higher cost.
