Hey there everyone!
So I have recently put in a order for a Hybrid XL, i did this on 11/06. While I have been waiting I comb through this site every couple of days to see what new and helpful info has been posted about wait times and other info. One thing I have found, is people who have received confirmation emails (not build emails) anywhere between 30 minutes to one week after they placed there own orders in at there dealership of choice. I have not received any communication at all so this made me curious. I contacted Ford directly via chat to see if I could make sure the order was placed with them via the dealership. They say they need a sale and order #.
I then contacted my salesperson shortly after and asked if they could provide it to me. They say that "about a 1/3rd of customers haven't received that email". He assured me that they placed the order but he said that he would send me the order and sale # via text. Next day passes and no response. So I contact him again the following day to follow up. He's now providing his managers phone number and says he'll be able to provide it. I call it and theres no response so i leave a voicemail. After doing that i follow up "You can't provide me with this information yourself?". He says the manager has more info and that there waiting for that information back from Ford in order to provide it back to me.
So the long short of all of it is, should have I been provided a sale and order number as they were placing the order? I have a little sheet that basically confirms all the reseveration details but it just has very surface details, like the options i wanted, trim, and any extra dealer add-ons but thats it. Theres no real tracking info on there at all. I dont want to be in the situation where 4 or 5 months pass and it turns out that the dealer didn't even submit the order at all. But mostly I just want some way to confirm my order at the end of day.
