Rt 66 Centennial Caravan

Took some time today and joined the Rt 66 Centennial Caravan from Springfield IL to Pontiac IL. The Core group (some 18-20 of them) have been on the road from the Santa Monica Pier in CA 3 weeks ago, headed to Navy Pier in Chicago tomorrow. Fun group, couple of Model A's, I was the lone Maverick in the group today.

One of the stops was the American Giants Museum in Atlanta IL

It was really a different kind of traveling, at least for me. Usually it's turn & burn to the next stop, the purpose of this Caravan was to spend as much time as possible on sections of the old Rt 66, even if it was only a couple of blocks. Kudos to the group that have been on the road for the last 3 weeks, every night in a different hotel, lot's of stop & go driving thru small-town America.

We plan on being out on the Route August/September this year. Hope we get to see some car shows then. I guessing it was a lot of fun joining the caravan.
