Feels like summer is arriving earlier than usual this year in a lot of places — already starting to see those hotter days creep in.

Around this time, the Maverick always seems to get used a little differently.

More weekend drives, more road trips, more gear constantly getting tossed in and out, and a lot more time sitting under direct sun than it was just a couple months ago.

That’s usually when the small stuff starts becoming way more noticeable. Nothing major — just things like cabin heat, storage setup, stuff sliding around, or realizing part of the current setup is way more annoying in hot weather than expected.

Curious what people actually end up doing to their Maverick before summer fully kicks in.

Not random wishlist ideas — more like what actually gets added, changed, reorganized, or finally fixed once temperatures start climbing

What ended up being 100% worth it long-term…

…and what seemed like a good idea at the time but barely gets used once summer is fully here?

I use a crappy cardboard shade purchased at Walmart. The creases are beginning to come apart.
I really need this one.

Carry drinking water on every outing
Park in the shade whenever I can
Use a sun shade whenever I can't
Park with truck facing south when in the sun so the sunshade actually works
Stay home whenever it's hot if that's an option

Here in the Mid-West hot weather also means potential bad weather. Right where I am, historically, tornadoes aren't common, though one went through town, literally a block from here two and a half years ago. Though tornadoes aren't common, the accompanying heavy rain and hail is seen fairly often. I did lots of research and bought a good quality cover that, I hope, will help protect it from hail. I don't have a garage for the Mav but we're looking at estimates to add a car port for it to the side of the existing single car garage as well. That will give some weather protection but also cut back on heat from the sun. Who knows if that'll happen, though.

Once the temp gets past 70(F), I tend to wear shorts, and with the black Active-X seats in mine, I keep a black towel on the seat bottom to avoid the skin on the back of my legs from being charred,,,,,

I’ve got my sunshade ready. The AC on the Mav works well so that is about all I need. I would drive naked but getting brown stains out of the seat is too much work!

My doctor said the technical term for that is “old man balls.” Sort of joking but my doctor did actually say that to me!

If MABETT came out with a US Flag or US 250th design, I would buy a new one that would be a better Maverick windshield fit.

I use my US Flag sun screen.

If MABETT came out with a US Flag or US 250th design, I would buy a new one that would be a better Maverick windshield fit.

I also prefer the ones with cool designs!

However, we can't sell ones with the flag due to infringement risks.

I air down my tires as things warm up to maintain door plate psi and I reset my air conditioning.
I use my windshield shade year around for
