I looked at the Bak Revolver X4s at a local shop and was dissapointed by how easily it could be opened wuth a coat hanger. Are there any similar options that use a better latching system than the cable pull like on the Bak Revolver?

After seeing a video (from MX I think) of how easily a tri-fold could be popped-up with a flat pry bar, I decided to try and slow down an amateur attempt, especially when my truck is in a hotel parking lot overnight on my road trip travels. I added a D-ring to the cover, and (2) D-rings on the lower tailgate pillars, and drape a chain thru to limit the amount of upward travel. These pics are of my "proof of concept", I haven't yet sourced the logging chain I'll use (hahaha) , but you get the idea. Maybe something similar could be done on the Revolver to limit the ability to raise the first section, at least when you need some additional security.
Sorry for the pics, it's awful bright outside right now,,,,

That's a pretty simple solution and will likely slow down or thwart an attempt. Great idea!

I have one from Truck2go (who no longer appears to be in business) that has locking latches at each corner (which can be an annoyance at times). I’d think the design is still available from someone.

My Rough Country has two handles you have to squeeze together and the cord is recessed in the cover so you can't hook it with a hanger

Does the Rough Country cover use velcro on the sides?

No it's a hard tri-fold not a soft top or a roll out but it's half the price of a Bak tri-fold

Locks keep honest men out of your treasures. A dedicated thief will show up with a battery powered saws-all. I have an insurance lock on my yard storage building. Any real thief will use a portable drill with a screwdriver bit. If you get what I am saying.
