Gas smell Question 22 XLT Hybrid

Hello All Today We noticed a smell of fuel in the garage after my wife drove the truck 1 mile--I looked under where the filler tube connects to the rubber hose then to the tank fitting (attached image) and saw a very little bit of wet right where the white piece i guess screws into the tank! With that said I wiped it clean and dry After that I drove the truck for about 15 miles up and down bending roads and hills came home went to check the area it was dry and still is dry sitting an hour! Tank is 3/4 full! Any ideas? Please note the rubber hose is not leaking and the clamp is tight!

I have a '22 Lariat Hybrid, and I've noticed the same thing. I took to the dealership twice, but they didn't find anything. Did you ever get your issue resolved? Thanks.

Did you get the issue resolved? I have 23 Hybrid and starting a couple days ago notices a gasoline smell then car on the garage. Trying to schedule a service appointment.....

Unfortunately, I did not. I took it to two different dealerships, and neither was able to find anything. If you find anything with yours, please let us know. Thanks.

Going to a dealer Monday to replace a gas tank. For me this looks like a leak from the clamp, but they did not even bother try to tighten it up. Men, I hate dealers....

Thank you for the update. I went quite a while without smelling anything, and I recently had another instance a few days ago. I will check for any leaks.

I see the same issue with mine when looking for myself (see pic). I guess both Ford dealerships didn't actually look under the truck. I hate to say it, but I'm not surprised.

That’s why I never trust the dealerships. It’s like you gotta do your own investigating of issues and point it out to the so called “professional” for it to be fixed.
Good luck guys. Hopefully they will fix it. If not try to get inventive and DIY for real solutions.

Yeah, because most dealership techs never look at anything if an issue doesn't appear on a scan tool, or in the list of common problems.

I tightened the clamp a few days ago. I haven't driven a lot, but I haven't noticed any gas smell so far. I checked the hose after returning home this morning, and it appeared to be dry. Hopefully, this resolves the issue.

Finally, gas tank was replaced couple of days ago. So far so good.

Good deal. I'm glad they were willing and able to provide the service. I hope it works out for you. So far, I haven't smelled or seen any gasoline from mine after tightening the clamp, but I haven't driven much other than literally a couple miles here and there.

Unfortunately, the leak has persisted. I took back to the dealership today and provided pictures. They finally acknowledged the problem and have ordered the replacement tank. With that said, I believe they would've dismissed the issue once again if not for the pictures I provided of the issue. By the way, they don't think very highly of auto forums. You guys seem to have more knowledge than them.
