About a month ago we shared a launch post for our Maverick tailgate spoiler, and the response from this community was honestly better than we expected. Since then, a lot of owners have installed it and were kind enough to share their install photos and feedback.

Does it help to keep the tailgate clean?

I am sure not trying to knock a product that I have no experience with, but it "appears" to me that rain water blowing back along the bed cover would be channeled down INSIDE the tailgate rather than blowing over it. No? I am guessing that it has no positive effect on aerodynamics, but some may like the looks.

Clean no, but cleaner? Yes. I don't have pics to validate, but I never thought about it - however your question has triggered mental images - After driving through rain there appears to be less residual debris on the tailgate having it on.

Aerodynamics work with this one.

AWD downforce stability is an added benefit too.

I gotta say, @MABETT 's tailgate spoiler is doing it for me. Definitely giving my Tonka the flow of sorts that I was looking for. I think the majority of pictures I've seen of it make it out to be only vertical but It has an outward horizontal flare as well. I've described it as being an overly exaggeration of the oem look. It's a bit cold here in PA so installation was in the garage and used a heat gun as I always do, no matter the temps outside for better adhesive. With all my Mabett products, not one has ever came lose over the years. I'm even digging the look through the rear view mirror.

@MABETT Just got back from a 2500 mile road trip after installing my tailgate spoiler, not happy with the adhesion. It was loose at the passenger end, and I was easily able to remove it this morning. Looking at the adhesive tape, you can see very little contact being made with the tailgate, the tape is pretty thin, and does not extend past the raised lip on the product.

Your thoughts? Not sure if I should just return to Amazon, or possibly replace the tape?

@MABETT , Never mind. I added a bead of adhesive around the perimeter, and stuck it back on. We'll see how that holds.
