That is willing to only doing the blade cut, leave the programming out of it?

I would go to the local Ace Hardware...they have key making ability.

Yes but most are quoting me $45 just to cut the blank!!! At that price I might just leave it un-cut and if I every lose one of my factory keys then cut this one..lol

I would go to the local Ace Hardware...they have key making ability.

They would not cut mine even though I said I could deal with the transponder programming.
They went by the book - which said they couldn't do it.
Annoying.

I'm going to try them tomorrow to see if they would do it...it's pretty close to my house so not a big deal if they don't.

I also used the 2 key method to program a new fob. At one Ace Hardware they told me they weren't allowed to cut car blanks. At another Ace Hardware the manager tried but said he didn't have a thin enough guide to do it. He even tried to do it by hand but got stymied pretty early in the process. I initially thought he ruined the blank but he assured me it was OK. With my options dwindling, I went to the dealer that I purchased the truck from, told them it was an aftermarket fob and he still cut the blank free of charge. Awesome guy!

I think its good that its hard to go someone to just go to any key cutter and have them cut keys on for our newer cars. Makes a little harder for the average joe to try and copy one's vehicle.

Nope, I can unlock/lock (via door handle and fob buttons), start the truck and drive it.

my dealer ls looking at well over $100( close to $200 I believe and they wonder why I wont use their services,anybody know where I can get a metal blank cut to stash in my wallet,I know eventually will lock myself out of this thing due to the stupid placement of the lock button.

Update...I gave up on Ace. I went yesterday and they told me that the key guy would be in today. I went back today and then the key guy there tells me the only guy that can cut sidewinder keys will be in tomorrow but the same story about not knowing if he would cut it even as I didn't buy the key from them..blah, blah. So I ordered the one on eBay and I'll see how that goes...

Ordered 12/11@3:03pm and it shipped 12/12@2:45pm!

Crossing my fingers it works, this is an outstanding deal if it does. $25 for a blank and the cutting service including shipping!
