$39 blend oil service,
$79 full syn,
At my dealer,
That’s not an up charge.
$25 5 qts premium full syn*
$10 quality filter
free service in my driveway
No worries about someone messing up any of the screws/threads, or not bothering to change the filter, or using whatever oil was laying around and claiming it was the correct oil, or finding some non-existent urgent issue that needs a $500 repair/replacement. That's not an upcharge, either.

*add in a few $ for dribbles of extra oil to meet the fill requirements, a couple paper towels, and less than a tenth of a gallon of gas to go to the oil recycling place and leave it for free. so $40 for an oil change.

The guy changing your oil at the dealer, the quick lube, the shop down the street, wherever, is almost always going to be the lowest guy on the totem pole in the shop, the guy with the least experience, the new guy, they guy that cant be trusted todo any real work. There is a solid chance he will pour whatever is handy oil wise into whatever motor. I had a grandson, who fits the definition above quite well and he worked for 8 months at a dealership as a lube tech, and I asked him what oil they used and he said its all just oil and it doesn't matter, Im pretty sure they taught him that at the dealership. He also doesnt do his own oil changes, think about that for a minute. Maybe you are getting top notch service and the exact oil you want, but it's a crap shoot every time. Just make sure you check the oil level yourself afterwards. I change my own oil, because I want to. I realize thats not realistic for everyone all the time.

Dealerships make their money on service not sales. And those service writers are all about the upsell. I change my own̈, Amsoil, and have for well over 50 years. I don't trust them.

yeah, I have to go up on ramps with the Mav. I can barely squeeze under the Transit(not Connect), but I could roll around under the t1n Sprinter with ease. SOOOO much ground clearance.

I know the feeling.. When you do it yourself you know the right components have been used and nothing was over tightened.
