I have a 2023 maverick hybrid. I tried using the heater. The temperature gauge was between cold and hot. I turned the temperature knob to 85 degrees. It blew cold from the large vents from the dashboard. When turned the fan knob to high it switched to warm from the smaller defrost vent on the top part of the dash. Am I missing something when using the heat from the engine ? I hope I explained this right. Hope to hear from someone.

Ken,
What was outside temp?
Manual or auto mode?
Here's a picture of mine in manual mode fan speed on 4, temperature 85, no air out of the AC vents.

It was about 70 degrees.
I wanted to try the heat for the first time since owning the truck. Sorry,I don't remember the mode. I've had the truck 3 months.

I assume you mean heat mode. I had the a/c button off and the temperature dial all the way to the right to 85 degrees. Engine was warm I thought it worked like a regular heating system.

With the lighter? I don't understand. Can you explain?
Sure,
I was actually showing with the buttons lit up fan speed on number 4. There was no air flow coming out of the large vents.
I post pictures to backup what I'm explaining. I even show the 85° temp. selected. Ambient temp 69°

I might not have had it in heat mode. I see the small red light on the left and the yellow light on the pic that looks like a person. Is that heat mode? And shouldn't heat be coming out of the vents? Thanks for your help.

Again, other than your temperature setting, there isn't a "heat" mode per se.
The red button you see is for heated seats they are turned off. The other yellow light that you see is me having manually selected lower vents.

There is no heater mode, just what you set the temperature to. Maybe you have a defective heater core?

Ok. I feel like I'm getting ambient air coming out of the vents while the engine is warm. It's not cold, but it's not exactly hot either.

I find the hybrid has to be running on the gas engine for a good while before you get a lot of heat. The Atkinson cycle engines used in most hybrids just don't run as hot as some other ICE vehicles in my experience with the Maverick, and a Toyota Hybrid car. On the Maverick heat from the engine is also being used to keep the high voltage battery at optimal operating temperature as well.

I'm in fla. And it was about 60 degrees. I believe. Engine temp per the gauge gets only to halfway between hot and cold.
