None of the Mavericks on the dang lot were green XLTs or Lariats! I don't know if they're loving that fast or if they just don't want to risk the color
We sell a decent number of all trims including lariats. But they play safe with the colors. If they'd had a Green one in stock at my dealership, I would have bought it. They have white, grey, Black. Looks like they are afraid to take a chance on a real color as well. The black appearance package is as radical as they'll get. And with mine and the other one on the lot, the base color is white.

It's not just Ford, We also looked at Hybrid Honda CR-V and the main color on the lot was White, followed by Black. That was it. Subaru had Silver, Black and White for the Hybrid forester.

I really wanted an Azure Gray, but also did not want to wait, so I got silver. It had the Black Appearance Package. I put a black cap on it. Looks sharp I think.

We did get a white CRV ( in the background). Looks great, but there are a lot of them on the road. Makes it tough in the parking lots!

It's been one year since I bought an XLT hybrid, hot pepper red from Granger Ford for $28.2K, and I see now that the same money will only get an XL, while a 1:1 XLT is $31.3K in a 500 mile (one day drive) radius. I know those cost increases are largely due to factors outside of Ford's control, but at some point it's got to have an impact on sales.
True - but reminder that anyone's competition is not with previous pricing, but other available choices. I was brought up a bit short this year when I shopped - there were a LOT of vehicles that have had very similar price increases.

It's good to see strong sales, if for no other than the selfish reason that more numbers of your vehicle on the road = more parts will be available, which is already a critical problem with automotive repair.

At some point it will have an impact on sales. But the price increases haven't reached that point yet . Hopefully, they've pretty much stabilized to the point of just keeping up with inflation from here on.

Seems Ford is starting to do take aways to keep the price down and preserve profit margin. The 26 XLT has several things deleted such as the rear seat fold down arm rest. The bad thing is once the tariffs are gone, the price won't go down and the features won't come back.

Decontenting is neither new nor unique to Ford. Standard keyless entry and sliding read window went away very quickly.

Some of the features may come back as options. But yes, it's a form of "shrinkflation". Seems like it's a universal practice across all industries. I hate it. But human beings seem to accept it rather than accept a price increase that keeps everything the way they were. Another example are the 20 lb exchange propane cylinders we use for cookouts. When prices spiked around 20 years ago, they started filling them to only 15 lb. They are still filling them only to 15 lb. I didn't pay attention until I had my own tank filled , and it seemed to last longer. That's what I found out that when you get it filled up, they feel it to 20 lbs for the same price or even a bit less than you would pay for a 15 lb exchange. Same tank. And at 20 pounds the tank still has room for expansion. So it is still safe because that's what the tank was designed for
