My 65 fastback is a 200 straight 6 and my 68 coupe is as well. My mav will have to give me my speed rush :)
FWIW, today while searching for other things (trim level), I found that the inline 6 in a 1950 ford had more torque (but less hp) than the v8!

[yes, one of the things I'm looking for as soon as I move in the coming months is a 50s convertible (but 40s could be a negotiable substitute). Must have manual {unless Cadillac}, overdrive, and power windows. Also, either a 60s or '05-'09 mustang, must be v8, manual, and convertible]

Ford's f150 power boost combines a 3.5 Ecoboost with a Hybrid. It's faster than theei conventional EcoBoost
The powerboost is the only turbo I've driven in which the lag isn't noticeable (and, yes, I watched for it on the EB maverick). It cheats, using the electric to fill in while the turbos spin up. Well, much of the electric; ice & electric combined exceed the rating of the 10r80 transmission!
[and for today's ridiculous thought, while disregarding the engineering that would be more expensive than the value, and the consequences imposed by the laws of Physics, consider shoehorning a powerboost into the maverick . . . ]

Some truth about the battery boost so I am surprised no one has added a light boost turbo to a hybrid. Maybe five psi from a rear mount type. Not a great fan of that style but they do work. Just a thought
In everyday driving my hybrid Mav does great. Merging, loaded, small trailer, off at the light, whatever. And, I expect it to do that for a long time. The Mav is the right tool for the job. When I want to ride like a demon I'll take the bike or the sports car.

If the sports car is your Miata, the Maverick might be quicker in a straight line :p

IIRC only the newer NDs with the bigger motor are quicker than 6.0 in the 0-60

True, but the Miata is still super fun to drive. It's like a go kart.

You can also go to full throttle and wind it out without the getting an invitation from the highway patrol!
