Has anyone installed a engine tuner on their Maverick

Looking to increase HP and gas mileage on my 2022 XLT FX4, already bought a CAT back exhaust but also thinking of installing a engine tuner and was wondering if anyone has one installed and what is your opinion on it

Yes. Search for "Cobb" or "Livernois," two of the most common and you will find plenty of threads/posts/opinions.

Bummer I know they have Carb compliant stuff but I think Ca went beyond that to zero ecu changes.

I’m not sure any of them can actually sell in Ca. But you could always ship to a friend and then have them ship to you.

I actually have my Livernois tuner as of a few weeks ago . It’s loaded with the 87-93 tune , and the 91-93 as well

I am second guessing installing the tune as a buddy reminded me about having a warranty. My truck was only bought a month ago and has 2700 miles . It’s only being used as a daily and to make 250 mile round trips to East TX on most weekends. Not so sure as to why I’m on the fence with this one as I have many other cars that are fully built and tuned.

Honestly man just do it.
I got mine tuned the first day I owned it I have just over 60k and it’s a lot of hauling. I even did a stint this week of about 2 hours of cruise set at 100mph and never saw under 90mph.
That was running. The 87-93 tune.
I’ve had them tune every vehicle I have had since 2015. I’ve logged over 1 million miles on lms tunes and zero issues. Had one go over 418k miles of tuned miles and it got totaled but ran great.

In fact my oil analysis comes back significantly better than most on here with stock tunes. No fuel dilution.

If it make you feel better I gave up my warranty on my 22 gt 500 same week I bought it. The motor on that cost more than my whole maverick. They know how to tune safely.

I have seen LMS track record over the years and it was really a no brainer to contact them and only them when i set out to buy a tune(s) for it.

Does the shop run a check the ecu during inspection? That state used to be known for rods and cars and such but now, wow.

Livernois also is but I believe CA has banned all ecu tuning.

They do indeed check for ecu tunes. But no reason you couldn’t flash back to stock for the checkup every two years

Weird, I never had a problem passing smog with a tuner. I was in the central valley so maybe they're a little more laxed than other places.
