New Mabett Side Marker Paint and Installation

I bought Mabett's new side markers. I was excited to try the new style and appreciated the plug-and-play design. I was not crazy with the silver accent, so I painted them to match the XLT rims and grille. Following recommendations, I used Krylon Fusion Metallic Dark Metal spray paint.

The process was straightforward and simple. I disassembled the lights, taped off the silver areas, applied two coats of paint, and reassembled them. Installation was simple enough. I recommend tucking all wires before test-fitting the plugs, as they fit snugly and can be hard to disconnect. Make sure you have zip ties to secure and clean everything up. Overall, I am very happy with the way everything turned out.

looks good but problem I see is that the passenger side marker light looks like its impeding on the door area. are you having any issues opening and closing the passenger door like some others have reported?

I heard the same, but I have not had that issue. Edit: I have a 2023 Hybrid XLT. Maybe it's an issue with the newer model as others have theorized.

Seems like the door hitting the side marker assembly might be a 2025 issue. I can confirm this when trying to install the passenger side on a 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT. Please let eveyone know what year you are putting these on.

Mabett explains and clarifies the sold out status in the ad. People are too busy to read nowadays.

did you simply mask off the black portion & then paint the insert?
there was a post (and I've searched for literally an hour) that I can't find, now where the member disassembled the light to paint both the insert & the black portion.
considering the "binding" issue on the passenger side, I'm tempted to disassemble both sides, and then lightly sand the passenger side to remove the "binding", then re-paint the black portion with a satin black & the insert to match my truck

The side marker has 4 screws on the back. Remove them and the front cover pops off revealing the 4 lights and the already painted silver accents. I taped around the silver accent and applied two coats of spray paint. On my second coat of paint, some of the tape lifted up and I got a bit on my light. I've been able to clean some off. Do a better job than me prepping the surface and you shouldn't have this issue.

I do not believe they are "sold out", it might be the issues with the left hand side on 2025 models. Trying to confirm this with Ryan at Mabett
