I just finished my longest ever Maverick road trip from Central California to East Texas and back. I took four full days leisurely getting there with planned stops at Cerro Gordo Ghost Town, Death Valley, Hurricane, UT to see Matts Off Road Recovery, Zion National Park, and lastly straight to my Aunt's House in Lake Jackson, TX with Google Navigation set to avoid highways.
My little brother rode along with me on the whole trip.
Cerro Gordo was awesome and Matts Off Road Recovery was closed because we ended up getting there on a Sunday.
I had a wonderful four days visiting my Texas family. My other brother from Florida was there with his Chevy Colorado Trail Boss and we had some friendly Ford vs Chevy competition in what limited off roading options were available out there in East Texas.
We took all Interstates all the way back with a quick and short off roading sidetrack at the Mormon Rocks near I-15 and CA-138. The trip back was one full day and two short days.
According to the trip meter on the dash, it was 3908 miles, 23.7 mpg, and over 72 hours. This was in a 2025 Maverick Tremor with my roof top tent in my bed and my brother's camping gear in a big tote on rear hitch rack.
I had some problems on the last day with the ACC. I started a different post about that to hopefully figure it out with MTC before I take it in to the dealership.
New hitch rack I bought for the trip:
Cerro Gordo Ghost Town:
Road to Cerro Gordo:
Camping in Death Valley:
My brother found a hub cap on the side of the road that he though may fit his RV:
Closed Matt's Off Road Recovery:
'Camping' at a Love's RV park:
My Aunt's House in the Bayou:
Maverick vs. Trail Boss
My Cousins with F150 Raptor and a F350 Harley Davidson FX4
Sunset on the way home somewhere in Arizona
Way too steep of a trail that was a dead end at Mormon Rocks, CA (thank goodness for that front camera hehe)
Somehow out of order, My Aunts cute little puppy and the next morning in Death Valley:
