Hybrid people are like
Seriously though. This is one of the most confusing notices I've seen. In one spot it says "XL availability is 21%". And then the next line it basically says "required orders: Anything but XL". lmao

Ford is saying they need orders for XLT and Lariat because they have the parts. Doesn't impact the fact only 21% of all trucks produced will be XL. They just have plenty of those orders already.

Those two statements don't contradict each other though?

"We can't build all the XLs so please put in XLT and Lariat orders"

"We can't build all the XLs so please put in XLT and Lariat orders"
I mean they literally do contradict each other. On the one hand it’s literally saying that XLTs and Lariats with ecoboost are required for orders. Where I’m from if someone tells you “X” is a requirement that means you have to have it. Yet XLs are partially available.

The only way it’s not contradictory is if you read “required” as something other than how it’s most commonly used. In this case you are stating it just means “we want more of these.”

I’m not disputing that your last sentence isn’t essentially what they are trying to say, but that’s a very unorthodox way of saying it and is objectively confusing. Exactly the same as how they use the term “exhausted” not to actually mean exhausted.

In any case, there’s really nothing heads or tails regarding hybrids beyond them maybe “wanting” more ecoboost orders to fulfill.

So I know I posted on last week's update that I had resigned myself to the fact that I was not getting my truck but... Just got my email 30 mins ago. My XLT Hybrid with BAP is scheduled to begin production the week of June 3rd. FINALLY!
