If there was any doubt before... 4 bicycles hung on tailgate

So I like to bike and I hate grabbing the heavy trailer hitch rack, it's a pain when you're dealing with 4+ bikes. I was worried the maverick bed would either be too short for full-size mountain bikes or too shallow and the bike would be unsupported. Well...all doubts have been eliminated. This is 2 full size Large male mountain bikes, 1-large youth and 1-medium female mountain bike. (and yes a tire is flat. My tubeless tires need some loving)

How did you fasten them?

The tailgate has built in velcro straps that wrap around the downtube of the bike and secure it to the cover. I will likely tie down the backtires to keep them from bouncing and moving also. The tailgate cover has straps that wrap around the whole tailgate and you synch it down before you put the bikes on.

52 inches is almost exactly the inside width of the bed. I had to lift up the inside edges of cover so the tail gate would latch. But once it latches it seems perfectly sized.

What?! I bought it 2 days ago for $69.99. It's now $50.99 after you apply the coupon.

It's probably better to watch a youtube video of how tailgate covers look and work. But normally the tailgate cover is more narrow than the actual tailgate, so the cover does not impede the tailgate from latching closed. However, the maverick's bed is narrow and the 52" cover is exactly the width of the tailgate. So in this case yes, the flap on the backside does get in the way of the latch. I had to lift the fabric up as I closed the gate for it to latch.

Sorry that's not what I meant. I am talking about the area where you pull thIe handle to open the tailgate. Is thereca flap that you can close to cover this area. I don't care if it blocks the camera would rather have that area protected. I see most other mats have this but it wasn't clear on Amazon.

Ah, gotcha. Yes, I lifted the flap up just to see if the camera would still work (it does) but there is a large flap that comes down to cover the entire opening in the middle if that's what you want.

Exactly. Thank you I just looked at the additional photos on Amazon and it does clearly show that.

nice! Thanks for the heads up. Does the flap on the pad obscure the backup cam? Would I be able to tuck it somewhere so it doesn’t?
