I meant more from the aspect of driving with a load. Stopping, accelerating, climbing hills, etc.
How about steering? Is that important? I'm just messing with you. I have done this too. As soon as the warranty up I am upgrading the suspension with coilover lift and rear overload springs, maybe airbags.

Hay weighs in at 40-70# per two string bale. @ 70# per your load is just over 1,100#, within it's capacity. Make'r work for a living :D

That squat ain't bad. Trucks are meant to squat a bit.

Here is my body on frame leaf spring 2003 XL Ranger with about the same weight in it.

I agree, trucks meant to do work, not just sit around looking pretty.

No mav yet...here is a photo of my old '66 Ford Econoline hauling firewood. 1500lb bed capacity. Yep, a unibody like the Mav.

I see that you have 2. I'd love the red one as a christmas present?

Actually...had 3...(they somehow reproduced when I got two).

That one in the photo with the "black appearance package" got sold to a winery in Santa Cruz, it hangs out doing nostalgic winery tasting duty...kind of a lot easier job than being a Farm Truck. Farm truck duty was what I did with it.

The other two are really special 5 window trucks with the big six engines. Special packages from Ford, one a 3/4ton automatic, the other a column shift 3 speed (now 4 speed) narrow trim that I call a "Summer Special" package from Ford.

Nice, cool truck. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen one of those. Do you remember the Corvair-based truck GM made?

yes, I remember that truck. Chevy has an ad that is now a youtube video comparing the corvair to the econoline. A guy using one hand to stop the econoline from moving on icy ground. The corvair of course muscling around and generally showing up the econoline.

Awesome truck. A buddy of mine had the van version and replaced the 170 with a pre smog 302😈 Very cool and quick 😉

Difference between your maverick and your F250 is probably 18 mpg so even if you have to make more trips, your still money ahead.

Put the Maverick to work today, hauling hay for my wife’s horses. I was able to stack 16 bales comfortably in the box, and probably could have done 20 if I wanted to go a layer higher. It had no problem with the weight at all, it just doesn’t have the box volume of my old F-250. I’ll just have to make more trips.

Looks great. Makes me excited to get one and do some work. I am assuming ecoboost or is it a hybrid?
