XLT Lux package sold out?

Was emailing with a dealer to place an order and they said the XLT lux package was sold out. After reading about the 4k glitch a week or so ago, I called to ask them. They verified they could not order an XLT with lux package due to a constraint. Lariat lux was available though. Anyone else run into this?

I would contact another dealer. Ford is still allowing customers to build the XLT lux on the website as of 11/2. Sounds like a shady dealership trying to milk you.

I’d tend to agree but he said he ordered an XLT lux an hour ago and now he cant. This is a rather reputable dealer I found out about through this forum.

If I recall Ford is transitioning to a "new" Luxury Package that uses a drop-in liner instead of the spray-in. There were some dealers accidentally using that option code a week or so ago and it was kicking back the order because it wasn't valid yet.

The drop-in liner replacing the spray-in liner is news to me.
Do you have a link to the story.

Is also seems that with the drop-in liner still a "Late Availability" item that going to it wouldn't really improve anything.

It was posted by a dealer over on Reddit.

Although it could just be that OP's dealer also entered that invalid drop-in liner Lux package as well.

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday at my (reputable) local dealer. The lux package couldn’t be added to my XLT order, so they tried adding some of the options individually and at some point, some how the lux package was added. They were confused about how it was added- thinking it was a glitch. When they printed the order and reviewed it and I saw a drop-in bed liner was listed in place of the spray-in. All were unsure of what happened, but I was able to place the order with them since the drop-in wasn’t a deal breaker for me.
