The member in our FB group installed a G930 dashcam system with a WDR upgraded rear camera in his vehicle, chosen for its 10” size matching the stock mirror. Mounted with the OEM mirror mount, he used a 33-foot cable for the rear camera and replaced the 32GB SD card with a 256GB card, allowing videos to last 6–7 weeks before overwriting. The rear camera is used solely for recording, as the OEM tailgate camera handles reversing.

What's more, he 3D-printed a custom wire cover and rear camera mount, which function perfectly. Overall, the setup is clean, functional, and highly satisfactory. See the pics below.

What do you think?

I think that it looks great.
Any chance that they would post the .STL file(s) so that we can print our own?

Also, how do they run the wire from the mirror to the hitch?

To each his own but I’d get tired of wiping the lens on the camera clean

It seems like the car allows for the wires to be routed down and through the mount. On the Maverick the likely place for the wires is through the dome light assembly so you'll still see the wires. I do wish the default adapter wasn't a right angle cable though as it forces a bend in the routing.

An extra long cable in the box stock would be great but mounting on the hitch seems like the worst place for a camera it would be covered if you tow and subject to splashes and mud all the time- I can't imagine the camera surviving too long. If I had an extra long cable I'd probably mount it on the tailgate and allow it to swive up 90 degrees when the tailgate is down.

I don't think so. This member was trying to sell the cover and mount.

It covers the wiring but looks to be more intrusive than just the wiring By itself ?
