Wild Turkey Hen in my Yard

I live in the country in NW AR. Used to see and hear lots of turkeys here but they declined as my armadillo population increased. They destroy turkey and quail nests eating the eggs.

I have been on the warpath with the dillos and have them thinned out here. Good to see a hen hanging around here.

These landed in my yard, also in NWA a couple months ago. I've been seeing more & more of them lately, so maybe their numbers are increasing.

I don't like armadillos. They didn't use to be around here, and neither were fire ants.

Awesome pic! I haven't seen any fireants here in Fayetteville yet. Hope I don't. I used to destroy them when I lived in Houston when I'd find a nest. Nasty devils.

Awesome pic! I haven't seen any fireants here in Fayetteville yet. Hope I don't. I used to destroy them when I lived in Houston when I'd find a nest. Nasty devils.

They're over here on this side of the lake in Carroll County and I've heard they're in Washington County, too. Not as bad as they were down in LR, though, where I grew up.

Oh man at first I saw Wild Turkey and was like yes id like a pour please lol.
I had one of those wild turkeys show up at my door and front porch 2 days before Thanksgiving last year. By the time I got back from the shed with the crossbow he was gone. He then came back a month later and was on my trunk of my car and scratched the trunk. I was waiting this year but he was a no show.
