{this must be one of those rare times in my life, when I actually have a bunch of different things to base my decision on... instead of just the usual three, tired, hungry, horny 
Maybe this is what my GF goes through on a daily basis > She usually has 57 things swirling around in her head like a blender... no wonder decisions are so tough on her lol}
So yesterday, I had to break the news to my GF, that buying the Maverick doesn't make sense for me right now. My 08' F150 is solid, with only 75K miles on it. It's totally customized for my personal tastes. It has the ridiculous stereo, which I'm really into. Just got a new set of tires for it last week. Redoing all the badges and trim on it today. Basically giving her the full salon treatment Never mind that I can barely afford to drive it. It sure will look pretty on the driveway. And what the hey, I have my Prius for mileage, when I need it. (plus it still bugs me that I couldn't get adaptive cruise control, without paying an extra $3K and getting a package I don't want)
My GF was a little bummed.... actually, so am I...
However, for my GF, it's a whole different story. She only has one car, the Kia Soul, which although is a fun car to drive, handles surprisingly well, lots of space, and LOTS of pickup.... it gets (IMPO) terrible mileage, at only 26 mpg average. For a little 4 cyl, I think that's just lousy. Ever since I got my Prius (52+ mpg average), she has just been kicking herself although she hates my Prius, and prefers trucks. I think she drives my F150 more that I do ! Well more often. I occasionally take it farther...
So for her, I think the Maverick Hybrid is a fantastic idea !
And the best part of all, is that I know I'll be driving that Maverick a BUNCH .....as every time we do any kind of a road trip, she hands me the keys She's one of those people who "drives when she has to", unlike me, who "drives because I love to"
PS, Interestingly, my GF is now thinking about switching to the one I ordered for myself. Can't imagine why the dealer would care ? She thinks she might prefer the Area 51, but only got the Velocity Blue so we wouldn't have two of the exact same truck lol So she was asking me, "Tell me again what options you got" ? ....XLT with spray in bed liner, rubber mat, hard top roll up bedcover... Cool ! So she is buying my Maverick for me... well, for her. But I built it, and I'll be driving it So what does that sound like to you ?
