AWD has been a OPTION for decades.IF they decide to offer a AWD Hybrid, I hope it's limited to the XLT & Lariat trims. It's obvious (at least to me) that a lot of XL buyers are consumed with having a less than $25K vehicle, a AWD option will certainly add $2K+ to the bottom line, giving them more to bitch about.

It will likely be an OPTION here too.
Ford sold FWD and AWD Hybrid Escapes. It is by choice they do not offer one now. In the hybrid is is easier and maybe CHEAPER to power the rear wheel than it would be in an Ecoboost.
The truck can be FWD biased and rear can be powered 100% with electricity doing away with the drive shaft and power take off and a bunch of stuff.
Electronics are cheaper and smaller and lighter weight than traditional transfer cases. It will never be full time 4 wd. Never. The rear being powered electrically is how other hybrids are made.
