Like many I don't have a Private Offer. I now realize I may have a couple of problems on my original order versus my rollover order.

On my original DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement) where my name should have been is "x xxxxx", while on my rollover Dora in the name area it shows the initial of my first name followed by my entire last name, 6 characters. I suspect this is preventing me from getting a Private Offer Certificate. Can a few of you who have Private Offers check your DORAs and see if your name matched exactly or was it messed up like mine?

Also, when I called Ford Marketing a while back, the gal on the phone noticed the Order Code on each of my DORAs did not match. She said she thought that would be enough to cause me to not get a Private Offer. If someone could look that up on your DORAs and see if yours were matching (or not) and did you get the Private Offer?

TIA to all who might help with this.

Order code will not effect the private offer. Your dealer needs to contact their inventory specialist and have them take care of getting your private offer. or Tim just figured out that They may have put the first name as the last name. so you might have them give that a try. I hope you get it figured out.

The problem may have been that your original order wasn't entered as a retail order?? Or under a dummy name "X XXXXX". Thus, your 22 may not have been approved in COVP. COVP (also called) ROVP) approval is what grants the private offer.

My name and order code are the exact same on '22 and '23 DORA's and I have a private offer.

More likely that's the Preview Order report from WBDO (NOT a DORA), that's from before the order was submitted to the order bank. The default name is X XXXX and needs to get set when the order is submitted. Chances are that on the bottom, it says "This order has not been submitted to the order bank" (as shown below).

That is very possible. I have seen many people call the WBDO order preview a "DORA" on here.

The WBDO preview will look the same after it is submitted to the order bank (other than the message saying that it hasn't been submitted to the bank!)

Some dealers may just put in a placeholder for a name to do the initial quote. I'm not sure what would happen if an order were placed under X XXXXXX. Part of the COVP process is liking the customer info w/ the order. They check to make sure that the name, order #, and order date in WBDO match what is entered in COVP and on the buyers order.

Whatever it says on the WBDO sheet or DORA, almost all missing private offers seem to be due lack of COVP approval.

Are you a cancelled 22 hybrid that had to be reordered as 23 in November? In this case, order numbers should match.

Or are you an unscheduled 22, who had to reorder a 23 in September? Doesn't matter what the order number of the 23 is.

I assume you are the latter. If your 22 was scheduled, your 22 should have been approved by COVP (since that was a requirement to be scheduled), and there shouldn't be an issue w/ the private offer.

Don't worry about DORA or order numbers. Find out if your dealer got Ford to approve your 22 order through COVP (also called ROVP, same thing).

Thanks JSUS, you were right, both of the documents that I have are Preview Order forms. I'm guessing there is no way for the customer to get the DORAs?

Duh, I just saw Manhattan, KS and realized who you are (from watching Tim). Thanks for responding. I've been trying to get my small dealership to contact their inventory specialist, but you know, sometimes it can be hard to get your dealership off the dime.

No, no way for a customer to get a DORA. Ford did recently make a search function for a dealership to get these.....so it is much easier than before (where they were basically impossible to search for if you didn't print them initially).

Thanks, I am the latter. This is a small dealership I'm dealing with and it seems to me they are clueless most of the time. I asked them some time ago to verify for me that the order was COVPed. No response. That is normal for them, no response. Of course, that really frustrates me. On our original order they wanted photo copies of my wife's drivers license and mine, because they said Ford wanted to make sure we were real people making a real order. I have hoped that meant they did the COVP, but no, I don't know for sure.

What adds to my concern in a general way is, we went in to order the Maverick and I wanted to simply specify the options I wanted on it and not necessarily order a Lariat or the Lux package to get a lot of stuff I didn't need. I still think that was something that any dealer could have done, but my salesman left to go talk to his superiors and came back finally and said they couldn't do it. I got the feeling right then that they were not particularly good at what they do.

You're welcome. I work for a very small rural dealership as well.
The COVP process was new...but Ford sent out tons of reminders.
If they took your driver's licenses, that is a good. Perhaps they tried to submit the COVP, but something held up the approval. I know on a few of ours were stuck on "hold".... the agent missed seeing the order number on the buyers order. We had to resubmit with this info highlighted, or call and ask someone to manually look at it again. They may have thought they submitted everything for COVP approval, but Ford may have asked for more info. This is just me speculating.
