Way too Optimistic Timeline?

Hey all!

Put my order in today for a XLT Cactus Gray with the Fx4 and 4K tow package.

The dealer seemed a little too optimistic for the timeline of when I would get it though. He was saying I could potentially have mine built in 5-6 weeks. I had to try not to laugh. After seeing everyone else’s wait time, that can’t possibly be accurate right?

Well if you got scheduled tomorrow... that might happen.

More than likely you have a 4-6 month wait ahead of you depending on the options you picked.

That’s what I was assuming/anticipating. I’m not sure where he got his timeline from lol.

I ordered the first week in January and last week received a production email for the week of March 7th. Today I received an email saying they were moving it to a week earlier; week of February 28th. Who knows?

I mean, it's true some of the Ecoboosts have gotten really lucky with their timelines -- but yeah, if you made the order today I wouldn't expect a truck until the summer.

That's because the lions share of us are waiting on our Hybrids, Therefore the long wait

He's a car salesman and gets paid to tell you what you want to hear. He'd tell you the moon is made of green cheese if he thought that would get you to sign a contract.

When I ordered one almost a month ago, I was told 4-6 weeks which I thought was ridiculously optimistic. I'd been scouring the internet since trying to find a cancelled order or Dealer order at MSRP and luckily for me I managed to find almost my exact order (this one just has the 4k towing package and is white). I believe mine will likely take 4 to 5 months. I didn't want my trade-in value to go down THAT much so I rushed to buy one a little. I haven't cancelled the order yet or told my dealer I got one just because my husband has to decide if he wants it or not LOL
