Last night I'm thinking that maybe my warranty is close to expiring. So I pulled out my paper-work and noticed that I bought my '22 Maverick XLT three years ago today. So I sent an email to my dealer at 11:45 last night. I got a phone call back at 8:15 this morning, for an appointment next Monday at 8:30. Nothing serious. The interior lights seldom go on when the driver's door is opened, which is only a problem at night so I keep a flashlight in the driver's door. About every 2,000 miles it says "Fuel Door Ajar". I'm used to that, so I just look in my mirror, see that it isn't, and press OK. And the radio sounds worse than the one in my '55 Chevy with a coat hanger for an antenna that I paid $25 for in '66.
Basically I think that it's a very good vehicle for the price, for what I do with it.

Now days beyond 3 years it's a straight up gamble to not have an extended warranty. Times have changed. I used to be vocal against them. If you plan on keeping it, look into a manufacturer warranty - not the dealers and not 3rd party. Lots of info on that floating around here. @Granger Ford will get you sorted.

At month 35 I bought for $2400 an extended warranty From Ford, the best one, that covered my 2021 Bronco Sport Base to 100,000 miles.
48 months later with 57,000 miles on the clock I traded it in on my 2024 Maverick.
Ford prorated the warranty and I got back $1100.

At the time of purchase I got the same extended warranty for the Maverick for $2,000
My point.
Buying it when the truck was new saved me 20% and its still covered to 100,000 miles.

I Also Insured it with the New replacement policy that states if I total it within the first five years I get a zero mile new Maverick of the same level. That was only $90 a year more. It's like Un Insured motorist. I rather have it.
I'm Insuring a 2024 Lariat AWD Eco, expensive little Tonka toy It Is.
