It was snowing this morning when I drove to work. The snow was wet. Suddenly a warning message on dashboard saying my Pre-Collission Alert was disabled because of blocked sensors.

I guess that is because of the wet snow accumulated on the front bump. And I'm surprised that the sensors don't have much penetration.

The question is though, if it were for Tesla and it used FSD, wouldn't it be very dangerous?

Water is very good at reflecting radar (which is why weather radar works).

Tesla FSD rather infamously doesn't use radar at all and is all camera based. It's why it suffers from phantom breaking events and other peculiarities due to mirages.

I've only had this happen with snow/ice or heavy frost. I thought the sensors were in a camera on the windshield?

I think the collision sensor is opposite the rear view mirror on the windshield. Mine got blocked by a splattered bug one time.

You'll get a similar message if the camera is blocked, but obviously the wipers can take care of that. OP has a Lariat Lux and the front radar sensor for ACC is prone to getting disabled due to slush/snow/ice accumulation which disables Pre-Collision Assist and ACC but doesn't have the benefit of way to clear it while in motion.

I have had this happen in my Ioniq Hybrid with heavy rain. With rain it usually clears up quickly as conditions change but I bet snow would be different.
