Many years ago, my wife REALLY wanted a Plymouth minivan (yeah, I know...). We looked at them, but they were rather expensive, so she said "No." About three weeks before Christmas, I was passing the dealership, and saw they had a gold one – the color and equipment were exactly what she wanted. I stopped in, they offered me a decent deal, so I bought it.

The dealership agreed to keep it until Christmas Eve, at which time I picked it up and drove it to my sister's house. She parked it in her garage and agreed to park it in our driveway for me on Christmas Eve. The dealership put all the paperwork pertaining to the minivan in a special bright red folder, with a HUGE note stating "Christmas Surprise - DO NOT CALL UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES"...

To help with the surprise on Christmas morning, I wrapped one of the keys and hid the little package in our Christmas tree. My four-year-old daughter was in on the secret, but kept Mom in the dark by responding "None of your beeswax!" (with arms crossed, and a pouty face to emphasize the point) to every single question my wife asked about her present... It was so stinking cute!

So, on Christmas morning, when my wife opens the box with the key inside, she first tries to pretend she's surprised, then suddenly bursts out crying, and confesses that she's known about the car for a full week, because the IDIOT clerk at the dealership called our house to let us know the plates were in for our new minivan... Argh! A four-year-old kept it secret for three weeks, but the dealership blew it, big time...

PS - My wife absolutely loved the minivan, and was crying because she knew how hard we had worked to keep it a secret, and the stress of keeping her secret (that she knew about it) was so hard on her. She can't lie worth a bean!

It is a beauty and glad you got a surprise. Love the Alto Blue. I have a 23 Lariat Hybrid ordered in same color and maybe my wife can surprise me by Christmas next year LOL.

Not to nitpick but, that looks like the Area 51 color to me. I have an Alto Blue and it is vastly different.

Well. It took what felt like forever. Ordered in September ‘21. But I picked up my 2022 Lariat First Edition yesterday. And she’s a beauty. Drives so nice and too many buttons I don’t know what they do yet. I honestly didn’t think I’d get it in the calendar year but my wife surprised me by talking to the dealership behind my back. So here’s the first pic. More to come
