I suppose that could work for those tiny deer in Fa but I'd go 40cal for those random gators
but anyway I think the OP wants to be able to lock it up.

I think there might be more room actually behind the rear seat. The under seat storage is broken up into two compartments because the drive shaft hump which is present even if yours if FWD. Even if you removed the plastic thing that forms the compartments there might not be room.

You would be better off figuring out how to use the space behind the rear seat. There should be enough room to hide a rifle rack back there.
