Thanks. Any help would be appreciated. I'll need to get a obd2 wire before I can do any more at my end but please let me know what you find.

Can you really screw up any thing with Forscan? I'd hate to end up un-drivable.
Hey if you ever mess anything up, you can just look up your factory coding and copy and paste it back to what it was originally. You can get your factory coding from https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt .

I just tested enabling Police car dark mode. This is exactly what you want. No interior or exterior lights triggered by unlocking/locking or by physically opening the door handle! No light is triggered until you put the key in the ignition.

Thank you!!! Now waiting for the right dongle. Should be here this week. Did you just toggle on police dark mode or did you have to do anything else? Thank you again

Once you get forscan connected to your vehicle and it reads each module, you will then be able to do the following:

Click on the computer chip icon below the wrench icon. This icon is for "configuration and programming". Here is where all the coding changes can be done. Next you want to select "BCM". Just regular BCM NOT BCM AS BUILT. (As built means long coding and is more complex). Then click the play button to enter the BCM. Once in the BCM, use the search function to find "police dark mode function". Enable it. Now "WRITE" THE CHANGES. Once the changes are complete you'll get a confirmation message and a message to turn the key off and back on. NOW YOURE FINISHED!

If you need to be night adapted quickly after stopping and don't want to mess with FORSCAN I can suggest an old Navy lookout trick. Close one eye about 3 minutes before you need darkness. It will be night adapted and will pull the one that was exposed to light to the night mode when you open it. We did this when there were no red glasses available. You can also get a pair of red goggles and wear them until the lights go out.

That would work but I'll be around about 300 other people and the last guy that tripped his lights is still missing!!! Just kidding. But I'm still looking up some of the things they called me that night!!!

OK. Enabled Police dark mode but it didn't change anything. Hopeful I can get this sorted out. I read something where someone enabled silent mode first to get police dark mode enabled but there are about 5 different silent modes and I'm not confident enough yet to just start enabled and disabling things.

Ok. Had to turn on silent dark mode vehicle. Everything is now dark until key is on. Thanks to those with help. I'll eventually understand Forscan and get more confident.
Thanks again

You might be interested in this change as well! Changes the headlight dial to Last known position instead always defaulting to "auto" when turning the vehicle on.

Which one did you order? Happy with it?
