Turn by turn navigation questions/thoughts

Good to know there is a 'Search' function. Can you guide me to it? Start at the "Navigation" screen? Please pardon my thickheadidness. Thanks.

Software can change and be different from one update to the next but my search function can be accessed by a tapping the map from the home screen and for a few seconds you will see a Search button on the upper left just below the Home button. After a few seconds that button disappears but you can get it back by tapping the up arrow on the bottom left next to the Controls button.

Thanks. Turns out the position information hadn't been turned on. As soon as it was, I got the search icon. Thanks for the help.
