people really don't understand the logistics that go into producing these vehicles. you have how many thousands of combinations? color, trim, options, engine/powertrain.

you also only have so much room in the factory to put those options, and you have to distribute the final product when its assembled.

it sure would be nice if ford had 4 factories all banging this thing out, but fact is its a new vehicle and no one understood the (at least for now) short term demand this truck was going to have.

Just be glad you didn’t order a Bronco. I did. And I ordered the Maverick as a backup plan. Which is great since I won’t see a Bronco until god knows when.
- Have a backup plan
- Get your expectations in check
I also have a Bronco order. Current status.

Man, I've never seen such a grumpy crowd. This is my 3rd new car purchase and my first two had random delays as well, but everyone was always positive and friendly. Do people really think a multi-billion dollar company is going to look at your place in line and halt their processes to make you happy? If they went in order by when the reservation was placed, it would take MUCH longer for everyone to get their trucks. This is an assembly line car, not a hand crafted Koenigsegg.

I mean, I was impatient, too, but I made the choice to sit and roll with the “punches” that come with me being an impatient man that wants my truck now. This is an instant gratification problem that is part of our society, myself included.

Fall hasn’t started yet. They only promised a Fall availability, nothing more. I guarantee that only the people that are doing the scheduling have a thorough understanding of how vehicles are selected and all we can do is speculate, unless one of us is part of that current inner circle, which it doesn’t seem to be the case.

I’m sorry you feel slighted, however, Ford doesn’t owe us anything. 🤷🏻‍♂️ They probably read more than we give them credit for, but their consumer base isn’t going to dictate how they do business.

They better throw incentives for early adopters. Maybe all sorts of merchandise with Maverick name on it. Shirt, duffle bag, 1 liter water bottle already in place on all doors! Special stamp on the truck that indicates the position of the truck in the production line.

As for all I know Ford has not committed or explained anything. The only commitments and explanations are internet conjectures that are repeated in circles long enough that people believe it as truth.

Watch Tim's Myth Buster video.

As far as I know, the only specialty anything being put on Mavs is the First Edition decals. I don’t even remember if there’s anything on the inside to indicate the specialty of it.

Highly doubt any of us will get any type of swag, unless something is happening at the dealership level.

Well...if THIS is the case...why does ford say "we go by the timestamp"????????? Ford puts themselves into this situation by telling customers exactly that. I know EXACTLY how automotive assembly plants operate as I was a manufacturing manager for one for many years, and have family who work at Ford Motor Company.

When someone has a reservation made the FIRST hour.....an Order with an EMAIL confirmation dated june 10th, 10:30AM EST....with the vehicle being an XLT, Cactus grey, Hybrid, Hitch, 360 and floormats as the ONLY options, and see's MANY MANY MANY of those exact vehicles...colors, trims, options going by....clearly it is "more than the most efficient/logistics" issue...there must be regions, larger dealerships, etc taking precedent over "the timestamp/order" date....
Well, then you should know first hand about this process, considering you were a manufacturing manager. Not sure why you are surprised. Then you go on to suggest maybe there is a regional component. Sounds like you may have answered your own question, but you should have already considered that based on your previous employments. Yes, a regional component could be part of the efficiency component as to how/ when they are transported from factory to dealership.

Available Fall 2022, of which is technically, Wednesday September 22 through Tuesday December 21. You still have November and December scheduling to be hopeful, plus delivery transport time. I hope there aren't any last minute hiccups in any of the options you ordered as you would seriously launch.

In the end, I suggest you cancel your order and move on if you are not able to wait. Picking something off the lot, in stock would provide instant gratification.

Respectfully, it feels like you’re almost saying that you’re entitled to having your build selected over others. I don’t really understand the negativity and anger towards this process.

Like I said, I’m sorry you’re disappointed and feel slighted, but there’s really no need for name calling.
We’re all adults here. (I believe)

I preordered my 2002 MINI and waited more than a year and a half before I took delivery.
