My guess is not recommended as there is no tie down clip. However the wood, depending on how much, should be able to hang out with the tailgate in either the level to the top of the wheel well or the one not shown much where like the level for plywood but then loop the cable around the normal pin as well and the cover fully closed.
Thinking about it, I could buy a clip extension so that I could technically secure the first flap without it flopping in the wind.

Chatted with RealTruck and when asking about snow weight, the said that most soft covers only support from 150 to 200lbs. Saw some that people indicated that support up to 350lbs. They recommended the Extang® - Solid Fold 2.0™ Hard Folding Tonneau Cover more details on - https://www.carid.com/2022-ford-mav...-0-hard-folding-tonneau-cover-4415022168.html

They said it will support 600lbs and what I really like is how easy it will be to install and take off with no tools and 2 toggle bolts at the cab end and two spring loaded bolts in the rear. They will give a military discount, which looks like 10% of for $827, which is over $500 more than the soft, but do have snow to consider and is easy on and off.

However some reviews say the spring bolts in the back do not keep a tight seal. Does anyone have experience with this hard tri-fold. Did a rough snow weight of a heavy snow at 20lbs per cubic foot would be around 400lbs using rough 4.5 by 4.5 or 20 square feet of surface area. Or over 300lbs of the Gator cover. At 15lbs per square foot would be around 300 lbs. so think a larger storm would be too much for the Gator. Hence looks like the Extang even if the spring bolts are not tight. Seems for the money they are asking, they should be but don't know.

Update: Bought the Extang solid 2.0 from tonneaucover and put the details in another thread. Totaled with free shipping and no tax $794.99
From ordering Dec 22, arrived 30 miles away on Dec 31 6:40am. Finally delivered just before 4PM Jan 2. Hats off to Pete and tonneaucovered.com. Too late to unbox as need to extend the fron porch a bit with some plywood. Will do some pictures when down.
