I have an XLT Ecoboost AWD with FX4 and 4k tow with about 6,800 miles on it. I bought it brand new December 31, 2021. I took it to the dealer for warranty work with the following complaints:
1. Popping noise while turning sharply. It pops every single day. Seems to only happen while turning sharply while hitting the brakes (like to pull into a parking space or my driveway).
2. Popping/creaking noise coming from my windshield on cold(er) mornings. Seems to be located towards the passenger side of the windshield.
3. Hood bouncing up and down at interstate speeds, especially in crosswinds.
4. Radio/infotainment stops putting out any audio but the screen does not freeze and still functions normally. Requires a soft reset or turning the truck off and back on to fix. Powering off the radio/infotainment doesn't fix it.
5. Trailer brake recall.
They fixed the trailer brake recall and updated the radio software to address issues 4 & 5. However, they said they couldn't replicate the other issues. They said they did check my hood and everything was in tolerance so they didn't adjust or change anything. They said they didn't have any TSB's on the popping noise or the windshield so they didn't know what to do to address those issues. The service advisor told me to check back with them later to see if a new TSB gets issued. He said it's a brand new platform and to "be patient" as they learn more about it. He told me it was all documented and I had plenty of warranty time left so not to worry about it but I'm still worried about it. I've read about others having the windshield issue but has anyone else had the popping issue? Should I take my Mav to another dealer or just wait it out like this dealer suggests?
