I have taken delivery of my bare bones plus trailer hitch Velocity Blue XL Hybrid. It was ordered by me on June 15, 2021, the dealer placed the order with Ford on June 17, 2021, truck was built on May 23, 2022 and then shipped on May 25, 2022. It was delivered to the dealer (Montrose Ford, Fairlawn, OH) on June 17, 2022 and delivered to me the same day. So yeah, just over a year wait. Communication from Ford was fine - I got all the emails I should have.

Some thoughts: even though I researched this vehicle to death, and had never sat in nor driven one until I took delivery of my truck, it is even better than expected.

None of the issues outlined on some Mavericks are on mine. It works perfectly so far. The audio/display system is not the least bit slow, Bluetooth works perfectly, the hood is solid at highway speeds, and the overall fit and finish is great. The truck is absolutely solid, being the first new vehicle I've ever purchased new without a single rattle or buzz. It does not have the temperature display on the climate control knob, but given it shows up two ways on the display, who cares?

Only additions are the Ford drop-in bed liner, which I used FordPass points to help purchase, plus a TruXedo TruXport bed cover I bought for $296 with free shipping back last Black Friday. Just need to get the draw bar and hitch ball and then it's complete.

Now need to get the Volvo and Toyota sold.

Delivery from dealer was another story which I will outline in a future post.

But, the truck itself? I love it.

Congrats!

How do you like the drop in liner? My January order XLT Lux was initially supposed to come with a spray in but as we all know the supply shortages at that time meant they substituted a drop in. I obviously have no idea when my Maverick is gonna be built but from what Ive seen the drop in is actually pretty nice.

Thanks.

I was the oddball thinking Ford might put the 1.5L EcoBoost 3-cyl in the Maverick. Glad the Hybrid is still the base drivetrain. Getting 40+ MPG so far. On the first tank still and up to 536 miles with an estimated 16 to go.

Bed liner and cover installation got delayed until this week. A buddy and I hope to do it on July 9.

Plan to spray on Fluid Film in a few vulnerable spots, just to be sure about rust. Not a speck so far.

I think Ford assembly teams are paying attention and are making the needed running changes as the model year has progressed. A brand new model always has little improvements over time.

I look at it and think how did I get so lucky to get a vehicle with the MPG and price of a Honda Civic, but is way more flexible and capable. This coming from a guy who has owned a Civic sedan, along with a Focus sedan, Toyota Matrix, Honda Fit, and an Escort station wagon, too. This is way better than any of the five.

Took a year, but well worth it.
