Now that it’s confirmed that paddle shifters work, we obviously need a wheel with paddles and a couple other things.
As Antonio has shown, a few things are needed. We already have a group of guys that are in on the new wheel but I wanted to see who would be interested here.
Items needed are:
Steering wheel with paddle shifters
DIY harness from steering column to PCM
Digital cluster (this is not needed to work but it’s the only way to see what gear you are in)
FORSCAN and OBD2 cable
OEM paddle wheels are anywhere from 3-450 for. You can even use a Bronco sport wheel which I’ve found as cheap as 125 but it’s not flat bottom and is rubber.
this is a clean example of a Heated one with paddle shifters for around $400.
Now the next option is what we’re working on and what most prefer. For only $200 more you get to customize it to your liking.
This is made with a Ford core. Carbon Fiber, Heated, with paddle shifters. It even includes the steering wheel cover upholstered and with a Ford logo.
The options are as follows:
This wheel is $595 shipped. I’m not making anything on these only organizing it. I asked if they could bill each of us individually so there is no confusion and everyone picks what they want. She said I’d have mine before Christmas if ordered now so I assume for 10 we’d be looking at January.
I also ordered the plugs from the dealer if anyone needs a set. They are pretty cheap around $25 for the set.
If anyone needs a digital cluster the Escape one is a direct swap. You can also use an Explorer one but that requires a little trimming.
Who needs an ST when we have 350 whp Mavericks with paddle shifters
