I really wish more folks around here would participate. Because while I'm posting songs (music) that I dig, what I really enjoy about this thread is listening to everybody else's faves. And yes, I do give it all a listen. It's probably just the musician in me, as we seem to listen to music a bit differently than normal people.

I love new to me stuff of any style (genre) and am happy when an old tune jogs my memory, which at 55, ain't exactly what it used to be. All these shared songs, links, titles and bands help me keep some new (to me) and often over looked mp3's on my memory sticks. And I love variety.

I do realize that this is a truck forum and I can't expect the participation and involvement they're would be if it was say, a music forum. But this IS a forum. Let's share! Music is (after all) the universal language.

I wholeheartedly agree!! There has been so many songs posted there that I forgot about or songs that I didn't know about by band I do know about! Then there are those songs by bands I've never heard of that I've listened to and are now in my massive songs rotation list!! This is certainly one of the better parts of this forum, next being the meme thread, thankfully the Maverick stuff supports them both!

I concur. Hack musician (my wife and I have an ukulele band), DJ for many years- love the sounds. As the likelihood of my truck ever being built slips further and further away, I agree that I enjoy this thread the most.

Cut my eye teeth playing power, melodic and thrash metal. And while I still love those old bands, I'm not the purist I used to be. I've found that the older I get, the more I enjoy all different types of music.

Yep, I couldn't agree more. Here's another example of just that. DD Verni has spent the last 42 years as bassist for the mighty east coast thrashers, Overkill. Then all of a sudden, this. Who knew?
