So, I mean, how big is a Ridgeline?

A decked out ridgeline will be over 50k easy. They start a 38k. The maverick is the one with the boring interior. I mean I love my mav but you can't compare the two. The mav is the poor man's truck. That's why I got it.
Can I call in a prescription for you ? Eye exams are usually easiest in Fridays 😂😂😂😂

OH and if you look at the mav interior too hard you may scratch the plastic.

The Ridgeline is an extremely compromised (price, rear leg room, fuel economy, body clearance) and niche just like the Toyota T-100. Both are intentionally designed to be in between sizes to avoid competition.

The Ridgeline is really much closer in price and size, interior width, exterior body width, and bed width to full size trucks. The other midsize trucks' over sized fenders artificially inflate their widths.

Hard disagree here. While Its not made of the finest materials in all the land, it has one of a kind styling and design. RL, SC and any other comparable CUVs all share that same sleek piano black style. Maverick has that tiny fake truck style.

Personally the XLT is the most immature color scheme of the three trims imo. it has the plastic baby diaper changer colors for the dash and door plastic. The other two trims are a darker slate and don't have the over whelming orange contrast.

Look. Why do we keep comparing the ridgeline to the mav. The ridgeline is a more capable Midsize truck. Not in the same class.

We all went with the mav because of the mpg and most importantly the price.
Yes. If I wanted to spend $38K on a truck I'd have bought the F-150 Lightning. It's more truck than I need and twice the price of the Maverick, but if I'm going to piss away money on something I don't need, why not go with something that's going to save me money in the long term? I'd deal with the logistics of charging it and all that somehow.

A Ridgeline? It's not all that much more capable at doing what I need. It hauls 1,530 pounds in the bed versus the 1,500 on the base Maverick. And it's $18K more.

No thanks.

So I actually bought a Ridgeline recently because, well, it exists (unlike my 22/23/24 Ford Maverick).

To give a genuine response to OP, I was pretty gutted to not continue with the Maverick. But my outgoing car had nearly 200k miles on it, and had periodic and expensive unexpected maintenance as to be expected.

I test drove the Ridgeline and thought it drove great (for its class). Also test drove a few other midsize trucks, but I have no shame in saying I didn't need what they were offering. I never tow and in my normal day-to-day I never need to go off-road.

Unlike a Maverick, you can buy a Ridgeline off a dealer's lot at MSRP (I actually got mine at $500 off). The RTL is the sweet spot imo but I talked myself up to an RTL-E. RTL MSRP is about $42k.

I'm a financial analyst and did the calcs - there was a $7k NPV impact for going for the Ridgeline over the Maverick. Obviously this is for my particular use case, and YMMV (quite literally).

The three things I wish it had are ventilated seats, wireless android auto and a more responsive touchscreen. Otherwise I'm very happy with it!

At the end of the day I was willing to pay that premium for a vehicle that is more capable, more premium and that exists. I would have preferred to have the Maverick, but I have zero control over the last variable (existing). Unless of course I go to my local Ford dealers asking $42k for a Lariat Lux Hybrid - which truly makes the Ridgeline look like a steal 😂
