Silver lake sand dunes

So today my boys woke up and asked to go to the dunes. So we jumped in the maverick to see what it had. This thing is shockingly good in the dunes. I did have the awd turn off 3 times but it wasn’t anytime I was just using it. It seemed to be when the stability was trying to keep it straight while sidehilling.
For those that have never been silver lake is quite a tough off road spot. Very soft sand and very steep hills. First one in the dunes is called test hill for a reason. Only needed to back down one hill today for a second try. I tried slippery mountains de and it short shifted. Then when it took time to downshift again that was all she wrote so sport mode it was.

Sure will my youngest is 4 and loved it cause the beach on Lake Michigan is as nice as it gets. Plus you can only access through the dunes so it keeps the hippies away.
fun part was they both loved the drag racing so I burned over a half a tank just going down the strip. Did t think I would need the Livernois launch control but boy that extra boost would help.

Next time I’m gonna try and get some outside truck videos that show the steepness of the hills.

I do like these tires. I have over 20 k of tough miles hauling on them so I will grab a new set this fall before winter and hopefully get those some exercise before I wear them out. I didn’t have airbags while hauling so it took some life out of them. Got the bags now just need time to install
