A great article for putting things in perspective!

"I order the car in May 2018. It’s promised in April 2019. ‘No later,’ promises the salesman at the local Hyundai dealer. April comes and goes. No car. I phone the dealership. No explanation. The car finally arrives two months late, with no effort by Hyundai to apologise."

He's French, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised that he's waiving the white flag on EVs so easily 😂 I have a hybrid Fusion and a plug-in hybrid Fusion, both built in the same factory as the Maverick. The range on my PHEV Fusion (rebranded from Energi got the final year of production for some strange reason) is just under 30 miles. My commute is 25 miles, so I've managed to go all year this year without getting gas. It's only like $700 in savings, but I'll take it :) If this guy wanted an electric car for local trips with the convenience of a "petrol" car for road trips maybe he should have gotten a plug-in hybrid 🏳

My hybrid Maverick shipped 12/4. I would immediately order a plug-in hybrid Maverick if they offered one. I would also love to have a full EV Ford product if I could get my hands on one 🤤

That was entertaining to read. At least he has patience. I won’t buy an EV until the charging infrastructure is abundant and I can buy a reasonably priced EV truck with a 500 mile range. I’ll wait.

Yeah, the infrastructure and charging tech just isn't there. It's ok until you have to make a 600 mile trip. EVs are great for short hauls and make a great second car. They make more sense for stuff like local delivery vans as it stands now.

And what do you do if the grid goes down? (and it will go down) I have enough gas in my shed to take me about 1000 miles if need be.
