The front seat-belts in my 23 XLT make a loud banging noise when I undo them. I have to slow them down to keep them from banging on the pillar. It's pretty annoying to me. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking of covering the pillar with some X-Pel or vinyl wrap to muffle the sound. I've recently had my first adult passenger in the rear seat and she complained that the seat belt cut across her neck.

My driver side belt will snap back so hard/fast that I'm thinking I'll eventually break a window. The passenger side has a more normal pull. Haven't worked that hard on a fix yet and I notice that "retract too slow" seems to be a far more common problem on cars in general.

This is normal. Yes - protect the side panels with something to avoid scratches.
