since my preferred 17" touren wheels seem to be discontinued, I'm exploring other options.....found another wheel I'm interested in, but between all the figures & terms, I'm starting to swim in confusion
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
1) not a fan of "poke", so lets just get that out of the way
2) don't want to change the handling, if at all possible, but know that the "scrub radius" can definitely affect handling
3) WAS going to go with 235/65R17's, but with the new wheel only being available in 18, considering 235/60R18 (almost identical to the 235/65r17 in size according to https://tiresize.com/calculator & a bit lighter)
4) where the oem wheels differ greatly (according to https://www.wheel-size.com) from my perspective wheels is an entire different story....
A) 17X7 +37 VS 18X8.5 +42
B) preferred 18" wheels will put tires 10mm closer to suspension & wheel 24mm closer to suspension
C) 18" tire & wheel will "poke" out 14mm further..yeah, only about 3/4", and with fender flares (mabett), not sure that's going to be a real issue
D) scrub radius chages by -7mm: I haven't a clue as to how much this is going to change handling, so a lot of information would be appreciated with this figure
so with all this nformation beging regurgitated, how much difference is the change in wheel & tire size going to impact the performance & handling of a '25 xlt awd hybrid?
any and all information gained from real world applications as well as technical knowledge would be greatly appreciated
