Rust In 24’ XLT Bed?

There appears to be rust coming out from under my spray in liner on my 24’ maverick. It is located under the storage cubby. Has anyone experienced this? Is this something I should be concerned over? Thank you!

Well the warranty only covers perforation, not surface rust, which I always thought was sorta stupid in an "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" way. I believe the corrosion warranty is partly that way because there are likely parts that are bare metal that are designed to rust to a certain extent (like the cast knuckles on my '99 F-150, not so much the bed on a Maverick).

You can bring it up to your local dealership's service department but I wouldn't be surprised if they told you that there isn't anything that can be done under warranty.

worry about rust? hell,yeah-that metal is thin to begin with...get out the OSPHO and get to work

That is not good. I would put a little Sta-Bill rust preventer in that groove now and then. Getting mine undercoated soon. I painted the muffler. It and the exhaust system also have rust issues. But that hybrid has a lot of condensation on the inside of the exhaust system. Wish they had used better metal on it.

Could it be something in the cubby that is rusting, like tie-down hooks. That rust looks like it is coming out of the plastic cubby.
